What is cancer?

CANCER comes from the Latin words dictionary which is used for crab. The ancients used the word to mean a malignancy, doubtless because of crab-like tenacity a malignant tumour, a few times seems to show in grasping the tissues it invades. Cancer may also be called malignancy, a malignant tumour, or a  neoplasm (which means, a new growth).

• Cancer: it is the uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells in the body. Cancer develops when the body’s normal control mechanism stops working. Old cells do not die and instead grow out of control, forming new strange cells. Cancer is not one disease. It is a group of more than 100 various and distinctive diseases. Cancer can involve any tissue of the body and have many different forms in each body area. Various cancer named for the type of cell or organ in which they start.

In a very simple way, cancer is not outside disease like coronavirus. It is forming inside our body by our old cells who sometimes become powerful and behaving very strangely, got out of control and causes cancer.

• symptoms are much wide or they may not occur at all. Some patients have abnormal bumps, unexplained fevers, sweats or unintentional weight loss etc.

• Cancer can cause many symptoms, but these symptoms are most often caused by injury, illness, benign tumours, or some of the other problems. If you have symptoms like this then report instantly to your doctors.  So that problems can be diagnosed and treated as early as possible.

Cause of cancer

Cancer cells are caused by DNA damage and out-of-control cell growth.

• Environment- Cancer may be caused by environmental exposure. Major part covered by sunlight via ultraviolet radiation. So can air pollutants like wood dust, soot, small particles, arsenic and asbestos etc. 
  
  
  

• Lifestyle and diet causes- Daily life’s choices can lead to cancer as well. Like eating a poor diet, obesity, inactivity, high alcohol use, tobacco use and smoking etc.

• Microbes cause- Some microbes are known to increase cancer risks. These include bacteria like H.pylori, which causes stomach ulcers and has been linked to gastric cancer. Viral infections have also been linked to cancer.

Treatment or Curable

According to doctors, there is currently no cure for cancer. However, successful treatment can result in cancer going to remission,  which means that all signs of it have gone. The only cure for cancer is early report the doctors and make early treatment decisions. Because of untreated cancer cause death.

• Oncolytic virus- An oncolytic virus is a virus that preferentially infects and assassinates cancer cells. As the infected cancer cells are eradicated by oncolysis, they produce new infectious virus particles or virions to help destroy the remaining tumour.

• Role of food- when we chop, chew and digests cruciferous veggies like cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, cabbage etc. they break down into biologically active compounds that both protect our cells from DNA damage and kill cancer cells.
